The Professional (original title: Le Professionnel) is a French action film starring Jean-Paul Belmondo as Joss Beaumont, a secret agent who is sent to Africa to assassinate a political leader. When the political climate changes, Beaumont is betrayed by his own government and imprisoned. After escaping, he returns to France with the aim of completing his mission and seeking revenge on those who double-crossed him. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and justice.
